    The University of La Rioja (UR) is located on a modern campus in Logroño, capital of the region, where 7,500 students are registered in any of its 26 undergraduate programs, Doctorates, Masters and other Postgraduate Courses. The UR is the only University in this small and quiet region in the North of Spain.

    The University of La Rioja was founded in 1992 and, as a centre devoted to Higher Education, Research and Cultural Promotion, has continued the work of the Monasteries of San Millán de La Cogolla, spreading knowledge and the Spanish language. Today, the UR is an examination centre for the Instituto Cervantes allowing students to obtain the DELE diploma*.

    The size of the campus, occupying an area of 159.911 m2 with lots of green open spaces, guarantees personal attention and an ideal atmosphere of cultural immersion for learning Spanish as a Foreign Language. Students study in reduced groups, they have free access to computer rooms with Internet facilities in each building and to brand new sports facilities.

    All buildings of the University of La Rioja are grouped together on a single campus. At its centre, it is situated the UR Library. Rated as one of the five best university libraries in Spain, it has a stock of 217.900 books and also on-line services via Internet: DIALNET is the most important data base of scientific articles in Spanish, constantly updated by the UR Library staff
